Kylie Minogue thanks fans for their support

Kylie Minogue has told how her family, friends and fans helped lighten the “darkness” she suffered as she fought breast cancer.

The singer spoke frankly about her battle against the disease, her new lease of life now that the cancer is in remission - and announced she will make her Glastonbury debut on the Pyramid Stage tomorrow night.

She pulled out of the festival in 2005 when her illness was diagnosed.

Dressed in a stunning metallic Balmain minidress with a black bodice and elaborate train, the pop princess was in sparkling form as she joshed with Ross, taking pictures ahead of her onstage performance.

In an interview for tonight’s edition of Friday Night With Jonathan Ross, the Aussie star, 42, said that as she went through surgery and six months of chemotherapy, her fans and those closest to her sustained her.

The thought of returning to the stage also played its part. 'It’s how I connect with people, that’s what I really wanted to do, get back on stage,' she said.

She will perform her latest single, All The Lovers, at Glastonbury with the Scissor Sisters’ Jake Shears, who co-wrote her new album Aphrodite, from which the single is taken.
